Uganda celebrates World Environmental Day.

Today 5th June 2023, Uganda joined the rest of the world to celebrate World Environmental Day under the Campaign: #BeatPlasticPollution, Ecosystem Restoration”.

World Environmental Day is celebrated annually on 5th June and encourages awareness and action for the protection of the environment.

Here in Uganda, it was celebrated at Kololo Airstrip where Prime Minister Hon Robinah Nabanja was the Chief Guest.

National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) through its Subsidiary Luwero Industries was awarded for innovative waste management practices.

Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi, the General Manager- Luwero Industries received the award on behalf of the Company.

Luwero Industries manages among others oil waste in Kikube, other wastes, and e-waste in Nakasongola District.
