The Managing Director-National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) Lt Gen James Mugira leads a delegation to Egypt.
On 13th March 2021, Lt Gen James Mugira; the Managing Director-National Enterprise Corporation (NEC) led a delegation to Egypt to discuss with the top leadership of National Service Projects Organization(NSPO)(the equivalent of NEC) modalities of setting up a lavacid(SAFE)chemical production factory in Uganda.
This follows an Understanding entered into between the Governments of Uganda and Egypt through Ministry of Health and Defence / NEC with an aim of eradicating malaria from Uganda by 2025 and reduce on the costs involved in procurement and importation of lavacids from InRAD-Egypt.

The NEC team was taken on a guided tour of other projects under NSPO including the Compound & Dap fertlizer plant;the hydrogen peroxide plant; the Aseptic packaging plant; Chlorine and Caustic Soda factories; Agricultural liquid and solid pesticides.
The team also visited an Animal production complex dealing in livestock productions, breeding and slaughterhouses and The Arab International Optronics: advanced in manufacturering optical, Electro-optical and electronic systems for military and commercial applications, night vision systems using image intensifier technology, energy saving led light systems among others.
Gen Mugira was accompanied by; Col Wycliffe Keita-General Manager-NEC Farm Katonga, Dr. Alfred Mubangizi-Representative of Ministry of Health, Capt Julius Iga-Entomologist-CMC, and Ms Mary Nansasira export Promotion Manager-NEC AGRO SMC Ltd.
