NEC welcomed a delegation from Tanzania Ministry of Defence and National Service.

On October 10, 2024, Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi, representing Lt Gen James Mugira, Managing Director of National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), welcomed a delegation from the Tanzania Ministry of Defence and National Service to the NEC Headquarters in Bugolobi, Kampala.

The Tanzanian delegation, led by Commodore Msafiri Mtalika Hamis, Commissioner of Estate Management and Building Consultancy, Ministry of Defence and National Service, had traveled to Uganda to benchmark the Uganda Defence Industries. NEC was honoured to share its expertise.
Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi briefed the delegation on the legal mandate that established NEC, its management and structure, as well as its operations. The comprehensive briefing provided valuable insights into NEC’s role in supporting Uganda’s economic development and national security.
The delegation was particularly impressed by NEC’s diverse portfolio, which includes manufacturing, agriculture, infrastructure development, and more. NEC’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and community engagement was also highlighted during the discussion.
The Tanzanian officials appreciated the warm reception and the wealth of information shared by Maj Gen Sabiiti Muzeyi. This visit underscores NEC’s position as a leader in Uganda’s defence and security sector, and its willingness to collaborate with regional partners.
As NEC continues to drive economic growth and national development, such knowledge-sharing initiatives will foster stronger relationships and cooperation among East African nations. The successful meeting concluded with a deeper understanding and appreciation of NEC’s contributions to Uganda’s prosperity.
